Plerdy alternatives: six tools and what each counts
The six main Plerdy alternatives are Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar on Contentsquare, Mouseflow, Lucky Orange, Crazy Egg and Inspectlet. Clarity is the only one with no paid plan, and the paid plans of the others start between $25 and $39 a month on annual terms, as read on October 30, 2026. Hotjar is now part of Contentsquare, so its prices sit on Contentsquare's pages.
Each vendor counts something different, so the table names the unit beside every figure. Prices are on an annual basis in each vendor's own wording. Plerdy review covers every Plerdy plan and its limits.

Microsoft says Clarity is free forever, with no traffic limits and no sampling. Its FAQ also gives a cap of 100,000 recorded sessions per project per day. Recordings stay 30 days, favorites and a random sample up to 9 months. Clarity cannot exclude elements from a heatmap, and Microsoft asks for consent from visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland.
Contentsquare's Free plan counts up to 200,000 monthly sessions, with replays captured for 5 percent of sessions, up to 10,000 a month. Mouseflow also has a Free Forever plan, at 500 sessions a month. Hotjar alternatives widens the Hotjar side of this list.
Paid alternatives on an annual basis
Mouseflow Essential runs 5,000 sessions a month, and every Mouseflow sign-up starts with 14 days of full access and no credit card. Crazy Egg Starter has a 30-day free trial on its plan cards. Inspectlet saves 15 percent on annual billing and lists no trial.
Lucky Orange starts at the paid Build plan, and its terms say the 7-day free trial needs payment information.
One limit for each, as the vendors document them:
- Mouseflow Essential keeps data for 3 months on 1 website project, and tracking stops when sessions run out, until the refill date.
- Lucky Orange puts every feature on every plan; base data storage starts at 60 days, and extra websites cost $5 a site.
- Crazy Egg Starter includes 50 recordings a month, and data collection pauses at the monthly limit until the 1st.
- Inspectlet Micro includes 10,000 session replays a month and 3 websites, and recording stops once the monthly limit is reached.
What Plerdy offers that these list differently
A Plerdy heatmap is a report of where visitors click, how far they scroll and where the pointer moves, counted against a daily page-view limit. Free allows 100 heatmap page views a day on up to three pages; Startup is $32 a month billed monthly, or $21 a month billed annually, for 500 a day.
A Plerdy video session is a recorded visit counted as a total you manage by deleting: 500 on Free, 5,000 on Startup. Plerdy says its error monitoring finds broken pages, failed checkouts and form issues, and its e-commerce tracking assigns a purchase value to each page element. Its seven plans run from Free to Enterprise 3, with 100 to 50,000 heatmap page views a day, and they also carry pop-ups and an SEO audit.
Choosing by the meter your traffic fills first
Match the plan to the meter your traffic fills first. Plerdy counts heatmap page views per day. Contentsquare, Mouseflow and Lucky Orange count monthly sessions, and a Contentsquare session ends after 30 minutes of inactivity. Crazy Egg counts tracked pageviews across all your domains. Inspectlet counts the session replays it records.
Pick Microsoft Clarity for a site that needs no paid plan, and Contentsquare's Free plan for a site with up to 200,000 sessions a month. Before switching to Plerdy, its 14-day trial runs at the Scale plan's limits at no cost, and the pricing page says no credit card is required. Plerdy vs Hotjar sets its plans beside Growth, and best heatmap tools for website gives the wider list.
