The Crazy Egg alternatives with monthly billing are Plerdy, Inspectlet and Hotjar (now part of Contentsquare), and Microsoft Clarity has no bill at all, as read on October 30, 2026. Crazy Egg's pricing page shows Starter at $29 a month with an asterisk: all plans are billed annually, and the page shows no monthly price.

Starter includes 5,000 tracked pageviews a month, 5 heatmap reports and 50 recordings a month. Tracked pageviews are the pageviews counted each month in the account, and one limit covers all your domains. Crazy Egg says there are no overages: at the limit, data collection pauses and resumes on the 1st of the following month.

Alternatives with monthly billing

Plerdy Startup is $32 a month billed monthly, or $21 a month billed annually, about 35 percent lower. It allows 500 daily heatmap page views and 5,000 video sessions in total, a limit you manage by deleting recordings, and keeps data for 3 months. For comparison, Crazy Egg Starter keeps recordings for 6 months.

Inspectlet Micro is $39 a month billed monthly, or $33 billed annually, for 10,000 session replays a month on up to 3 websites. Session replays are the sessions Inspectlet records as watchable replays.

Hotjar's Growth plan, sold through Contentsquare, is $49 a month on monthly payment, or $39 on yearly payment, at 7,000 monthly sessions. Contentsquare ends a session after 30 minutes of inactivity and says its Growth plans do not require an annual contract.

A free Crazy Egg alternative: Microsoft Clarity

Microsoft Clarity is the free Crazy Egg alternative. Microsoft says it is free forever with no traffic limits and no sampling, with no limit on sites per account, and it installs on Shopify, Wix and WordPress, as Crazy Egg does. Recordings are kept 30 days, and favorites and a random sample up to 9 months.

Crazy Egg's own Free plan and trial

Crazy Egg's cards offer a 30-day free trial, while a Free plan appears only in its FAQ, which says it needs no credit card; the pricing page prints no limits for it.

Plerdy's trial lasts 14 days, against Crazy Egg's 30, and Plerdy's pricing page prints "No credit card required" under its paid cards. The trial uses the Scale plan's limits, and the account then moves to Plerdy's Free plan.
